Romania sees Azerbaijan as strategic partner – minister

Romanian Foreign Minister Titus Corlățean described Azerbaijan as a strategic partner of his country. Georgia is privileged partner, but Armenia is a traditional companion of Romania, he said. Strengthening energy position in the Caucasus is among the priorities of Romania, Russian media reported. Corlățean also noted that Romania is also interested in developing ties with the Central Asia, in particular, with Kazakhstan, Turkmenistan and Uzbekistan in a bid to expand Romania’s economic presence in the regional market.
